Kylie McManus

"I feel like Hypopressives have given me my future back; that I will be able to run around in the park with my son, dance and swing him round."

How did you discover re-centre and what made you decide to give it a go?

At her 8-week postpartum check, Kylie’s GP indicated she probably had a prolapse. She struggled significantly with recovery and felt her body was unrecognisable. Basic activities like short walks and lifting her car seat were impossible. Her son’s osteopath, who had worked with Simone after her own children’s births, recommended Hypopressives. Though it took several months to pursue it, Kylie eventually started and wished she had begun sooner. She noted that kegels seemed to worsen her symptoms.

Can you describe a bit how your Hypopressive practice has made you feel?

After just 10 minutes daily for two weeks, Kylie felt significantly less symptomatic. Beyond physical improvements, the practice restored hope about her future. Pre-pregnancy, she enjoyed high-impact workouts like running at Hampstead Heath. This loss made her feel lost and really sad. Hypopressives renewed her confidence that she might return to intense exercise eventually.

You have a near-daily Hypopressives practice. How do you manage that and what keeps you going?

Kylie maintains consistency because she observes immediate post-session differences. She memorized the prolapse focus wall series and fits it into daily routines—during her son’s breakfast, at her work desk, or while cooking. Even brief sessions benefit her symptoms and provide personal self-care time.

Have you noticed any other changes in your body, your posture, your breath, your overall sense of self?

Kylie experienced improved posture, reduced back pain, and increased pelvic stability. Since struggling with SPD during pregnancy, this stability provides continued motivation. She feels Hypopressives have given me my future back—enabling park activities with her son, dancing, and eventual return to challenging exercise when ready.
