Diastasis Recti
The separation of your abdominal muscles during and following pregnancy.
How common is Diastasis Recti?
Diastasis recti is very common during and following pregnancy. About 60% to 70% of women will get it.
what causes diastasis recti?
Increased intra-abdominal pressure is a leading factor behind diastasis recti. When you’re pregnant, your abdominal muscles stretch to accommodate your growing uterus, which causes the connective tissue to become thin. Over time a partial or complete separation of the rectus abdominis can occur.
